  1. Created by House Bill 46 during the 2003 legislative session, the Wyoming Healthcare Commission (WHCC) was established within the governor's office to study issues related to the access, cost and quality of healthcare for Wyoming citizens. The Commission consists of eleven (11) members appointed by the governor. In addition, the director of the Wyoming Department of Health and the Wyoming Insurance Commissioner are ex-officio members of the commission.

  3. The Wyoming Healthcare Commission’s primary tasks center on providing information, data and recommendations to the governor and state legislature. The Wyoming Healthcare Commission has four focus areas:

  5. The Wyoming Healthcare Commission frequently meets in Casper for the travel convenience of the public and commissioners. However, the Wyoming Healthcare Commission is making a concerted effort to meet elsewhere in the state, to meet those in Wyoming's communities who are concerned with matters of the access, quality and cost of healthcare.
